Today I bring you some of dubstep which falls on the extra dirty/heavy of the spectrum. The first being a rather new song by Datsik that should become excessively popular soon. Earlier in the year Kaskade and Skrillex collaborated on a unique song called “Lick It” for Kaskades Fire and Ice album. The original is has a driving feel to it that can keep a party crackin’ but Datsik’s version takes an EPIC left turn once it drops and I’ll be honest took me by surprise. I want to hear this song live when Datsik comes with Flux and Dcotor P to Red Rocks this summer because this song will get a massive roar. So please enjoy responsibly.

And for the second song I bring you Gemini’s original “Elavate.” My friend form England played this song for me one night at a house party and at this point I didn’t want to hear another dubstep song. But he promised me a huge song if I let it reach the drop and when it did, I literally started crying tears of joy. I have nothing else to say about this song because it is so good. So once again, please enjoy responsibly.

Chiddy bang coming through with another smash hit. Off the duo’s debut album, Breakfast is the soulful homage to the great Ray Charles. Chiddy was quoted saying, “The song actually started out as a joke when my brother, Cheeseburger Don, got so high he fell asleep in the studio with his sunglasses on,” says Chiddy. “I looked over and he reminded me of Ray Charles, probably because I was high, too. I started freestyling about him and we laid it down right there.”

As a bonus I am going to give you the moombahton remix of the same song. It is really laid back and has crowd pleaser written all over it. It is a little faster paced, but with a chill moombahton melody. Put this one on your summer playlist for sure.

I first discovered The Prototypes through this awesome remix. This DJ duo has been on the fast track to fame by becoming one of the most recognized names in the new breed of drum and bass artists. They were recently signed to the Shogun Audio label, and with this support there are big things to come from these two. Keep an ear out and give em some love on Facebook.
I liked The Prototypes remix so much I decided to give the original a try and WOW. DJ Friction has been around a while making his mark on drum & bass with over 70 releases to his name. He also heads up his own record label, Shogun Audio, the same label that picked up The Prototypes!! First of all, happy thirsty Thursday to everyone, today I bring you some remixes from a London artists named Special Features. His sound is one of a kind that is very much party worthy. Special features manages to keep the feel of the original song but ads his very own upbeat flair. Assuming you have some sort of knowledge of electronic music, then you have heard Strobe by Deadmau5.  And if you are like me, you have listened to it over 699 times because it is one of the best songs ever made.  This remix puts a surprisingly happy twist to the epic original.  This version takes the original and adds a perfect amount of synthesizer to it and I must say makes me want to move.  So please enjoy.
