Alex Clare – Too Close: Dubstep: Drum & Bass

This track comes off The Lateness of the Hour which is this British songwriter’s debut album. Too Close preceded this album as a single but was included into the full length album line up. If it sounds familiar a snippet of it was featured in a commercial for Microsoft and Internet Explorer. This is what made me want to hear the rest of this track! His voice is very soulful and the lyrics combined with instrumental dubstep / electronic make for a very pleasing experience for the ears. Get the full album from iTunes and show him some love on Facebook!

Benny Bennasi – Control feat. Gary Go + (Jacob Plant Remix) : House Original / Drum & Bass Remix

Benny Benassi is a true living legend who many consider one of the fathers and original pioneers of electro house music. With the help of Gary Go, it appears we have a sequel to the famed track Cinema that hit the charts last year, right about this time. Control is no different; very vocal driven. Also, I have a remix of the song done by Jacob Plant who always does a heavy track. Also, he is no stranger to Crossfaded!

Sub Focus – Out the Blue (Club Mix) + Yogi ft. Ayah Mara – Follow U (Trolley Snatcha remix) : Drum & Bass / Dubstep

Well everyone, with the ending of school, thirsty thursday is no longer reserved for thursday and has instead moved to Monday through Sunday due to the random nature of summer.  But this won’t stop me from providing you with awesome bangers on thursdays. So the first song I bring to you is a drum and bass track called Out the Blue from Sub Focus. Drum and Bass always provides a fast upbeat tempo to dance to, but Out the Blue has a lighter feel to it because of the softer lyrics and lighter chorus line. If you find your self wanting to break out in a air drum session then by all means do so, but please, do so with as much room for activities as possible. Buy it on Beatport here.

The second song for your schmeckles is a remix of Follow U by Trolly Snatcha, who just recently came out with a new EP titled Subtext.  This isn’t from the EP but is a massive track nevertheless.  Sometimes the vocals have the ability to make or break a song and this is the latter because without Yogi’s lyrics this song just isn’t the same.  I am going to be real here, the original version of this song is a weak, besides the vocals, attempt to make a dubstep song, but Trolly Snatcha says nay and provides one hell of a dubstep song.  This is one UK dubstep master I will be keeping track of in the future. Find his soundcloud here.

Friction – Someone (ft. McLean) & (The Prototypes Remix) Someone (ft. McLean)

-DJ Friction-

I first discovered The Prototypes through this awesome remix. This DJ duo has been on the fast track to fame by becoming one of the most recognized names in the new breed of drum and bass artists. They were recently signed to the Shogun Audio label, and with this support there are big things to come from these two. Keep an ear out and give em some love on Facebook.
I liked The Prototypes remix so much I decided to give the original a try and WOW. DJ Friction has been around a while making his mark on drum & bass with over 70 releases to his name. He also heads up his own record label, Shogun Audio, the same label that picked up The Prototypes!! With the vocals of Anthony McLean this original track and remix show the talents of this group of artists/ producer. Check out the Shogun Audio soundcloud page and DJ Friction on Facebook.

You can find both these songs on iTunes.
