Porter Robinson is a fucking prodigy. People doubt his talent because of his “lack of experience,” but I must disagree wholeheartedly, he is easily in the class of Deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner. His sound is infiltrating clubs and blogs worldwide. Porter Robinson definitely has talent. His mixes are well crafted and hold their own amongst other greats of a similar nature. And the fact that he is so young he has plenty of time to settle in and find his own groove. My setlists without a doubt will have at least one Porter Robinson track. (★ = Personal favorite.)

I have an awesome treat for you today, hailing from my favorite female artist Ellie Goulding. Her voice just meshes so well with any and all electronic songs. This time she is paired with the artist Tinie Tempah that has a rapping style that does great with electro as well. So it would only make sense that these artists come together for some strong bangers. Anyways, today I have the song ‘Wonderman’ for you and I have two remixes of it. So which should I post? First up is a song that is without question one of my favorites. Why you might ask? Well it is because it mashes the music from ‘Roses’ by Andre 3000 and ‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’ from Daft Punk. It is a chill song great for the background music. Plus it has a tune that can get anyone saying, “Hey that sounds familiar.” A true crowd pleaser.

Next up is Ratatat vs. Cypress Hill. It is nice and refreshing to hear some Cypress with a new twist to it. Especially when the twist is that of Ratatat. As always, you will find very strong lyrics, and a hard driving beat that will get your head bobbing all throughout. Blast it while you are rolling around and feel hardcore. (Even if it is only for 4 minutes.)

And the list goes on. (Oh joy, right?) Anyways, what we got here is an ultra unique track with Aesop Rock. It is nice to hear his strong voice over such melancholy/heavenly track. It makes up such a different dynamic than what I am used to hearing from Aesop. I think it is a killer down tempo song. Plus it is done by The Hood Internet who did the ‘Wildcat’ ‘Billie Jean’ mashup a while back. So, be prepared for some sickness.

Lastly, I’ve got a track from a Boulder native that is still producing tracks and goes by the name of DJ Playful. Her music is always bomb and today I have a solid track. It is a laidback song with a trance sort of feel with the soft and occasional vocals. Great mashup, great artists, and an awesome DJ. If you like her than check her out on soundcloud. Enjoy.

So, these days Wiz Khalifa’s style is changing. He is no longer the underground rapper, he is now signed and has a much more mainstream feel. Which is fine and dandy because he has a stellar voice and can pull it off well. Kind of miss his old shit. (Than why don’t you post a new and old one for us to compare?) Hmm, not a bad idea reader. I think I’ll do just that.

First up is an oldie circa 2005, way before Wiz got big. It still has a mainstreamish feel, but it has that up and coming feel in his lyrics. It is a nice song for chilling got a fun beat and that unique Wiz style. Scope.

Next up is the pinnacle of Wiz’s new mainstream rap. Not very strong lyrics, just a really nice chorus and relaxed piano background. Plus it is all about back in the day when we were young wild and free. Actually I’m still in that phase of my life, but you may not be? (Despite the fact that the demographic for this site is 18-24. Guess we are all still in that stage.) What was I talking about? Anyways, this song is a perfect song for a blaze/chill session. So sit back relax with a few friends from back in the day and play this. (You might want to accompany it with the song ‘Forever Young’ by Jay-Z that I posted a while back.) Enjoy.
