Sub Focus – Out the Blue (Club Mix) + Yogi ft. Ayah Mara – Follow U (Trolley Snatcha remix) : Drum & Bass / Dubstep

Well everyone, with the ending of school, thirsty thursday is no longer reserved for thursday and has instead moved to Monday through Sunday due to the random nature of summer.  But this won’t stop me from providing you with awesome bangers on thursdays. So the first song I bring to you is a drum and bass track called Out the Blue from Sub Focus. Drum and Bass always provides a fast upbeat tempo to dance to, but Out the Blue has a lighter feel to it because of the softer lyrics and lighter chorus line. If you find your self wanting to break out in a air drum session then by all means do so, but please, do so with as much room for activities as possible. Buy it on Beatport here.

The second song for your schmeckles is a remix of Follow U by Trolly Snatcha, who just recently came out with a new EP titled Subtext.  This isn’t from the EP but is a massive track nevertheless.  Sometimes the vocals have the ability to make or break a song and this is the latter because without Yogi’s lyrics this song just isn’t the same.  I am going to be real here, the original version of this song is a weak, besides the vocals, attempt to make a dubstep song, but Trolly Snatcha says nay and provides one hell of a dubstep song.  This is one UK dubstep master I will be keeping track of in the future. Find his soundcloud here.

StepTech – Vulcan + Sinister + Bassoffen : Must Hear Dubstep / Glitch

Mat Lee the producer from Boulder, Colorado named StepTech is coming at you with some bass heavy music. Nowadays dubstep artists are becoming so generic, not this guy. He incorporates sick layering with a really unique and complex style. Combining glitch, dubstep, and a hell of a lot of bass. I have three songs for you today: Bassoffen, Sinister, and Vulcan. All originals from StepTech and these tracks truly display how far he has come in such a short while. I have to give myself some credit for finding him, because Mat is the definition of a diamond in the rough. I guarantee you will see more of him on Crossfaded. Check out his soundcloud here.

Pretty Lights – You Get High : Hip-hop Soul

Pretty Lights just released “You Get High” today, and as usual it does not disappoint. It is real soulful and has a little 70’s funk to it that reminds me of nice, fat, afros.  He is set to release a new album in the near future so be prepared for that my friends.  Here is a recap of the NYE’s celebration at the first bank center in Colorado which also incorporates the new song.  This video captures that show amazingly because that was one of his best shows to date.  As you are all aware of he is coming to Red Rocks in the summer and tickets are already sold out, so I guess, never mind; I’m sure they will turn up on craigslist and stubhub and other places for 459% of the original price.

Here is a video of what it was like at the show at exactly midnight.  I know the quality isn’t the best but either way it is still amazing.

Please enjoy responsibly.

Cherry Coke – More Coke + Speedway : Progressive House

Cherry Coke is a 21 year old up-and-coming producer and DJ from the far, eastern parts of Poland. Clearly being in the middle of nowhere has inspired him to create some big time tracks. More coke incoperates, progressive house with a hint of electro and a smidgen of dubstep, he crates such a well balanced and impeccably blended sound. Both tracks are must hears.

Adele vs. Daft Punk – Something About The Fire (Carlos Serrano Mix) + The Glitch Mob vs. Jay-Z – 99 Days (Carlos Serrano Mix) : Must Hear Mashups

Carlos Serrano took Daft Punk’s 2001 Discovery track Something About Us and laid Adele’s vocals on her hit Set Fire To The Rain over the instrumentals. The final product is Something About The Fire. This track has a funky downtempo feel that is just killer. This song proves to me once again that mashups are a true genre and shouldn’t be taken so lightly.

Carlos Serrano comes in with another mashup this time with the overused Jay-Z 99 Problems and The Glitch Mob’s Fortune Days. The mix works well as Serrano continues develop into one of the premier mashup artists. Really in this one the execution is flawless, that is what sets him apart from other mashup artists.
