Hailing from Minnesota Gigamesh is a indie dance power house. A notable accomplishment of this producer is his involvement in Mike Posner’s success. Gigamesh remixed Cooler Than Me which ended up being the number one single from his album 31 Minutes To Take Off and needless to say it was a hit. From that Gigamesh has gained a ton of fame in the indie dance world and continues to grow. This remix of Alexander Holland’s City Full Of Lights is no exception, in fact it is pure gold. Giving a soft 80’s electro vibe to this amazing indie song just gives it a funky out look that can be enjoyed all the time. Next is an amazingly complex artist, Claire Boucher, that goes by the name of Grimes. Mixing and matching styles creates flexibility in what she can produce and that makes her infinitely more intriguing. Her soft rhythmic voice mixed with indie dance is nothing short of amazing. After seeing SBTRKT live at the Fox Theater I couldn’t help myself but to post about them because quite frankly that was one of the best concerts of the year so far.  They are a solid two man group with a musical background.  The singer Aaron Jerome sings and their drummer has some damn good chops, all the while they mix samples in between singing and playing.  So to call them multifaceted is an understatement.  The first song I have for you is a very sensual song and would recommend you grab your partner for this song.

The final song from SBTRKT is called Pharaohs and features Roses Gabor on vocals.  This is a little more upbeat but still manages to be smooth and chill in true SBTRKT style.

Well today I’ve got the latest track from Mac Miller’s newest mixtape Macadelic. Mac has been featured once before here on Crossfaded. He has rose so fast it is nothing short of insanity. He is breaking into the more mainstream feel with this track. Which entails him talking about his diamonds, women and drugs. That is what the rap game is all about, right? Well the whole mainstream friendly sound is working for now, but hopefully he gets back to his roots and produces something a little more Macadelic. The track I have for you is called Loud and that is exactly what this song is. Show Mac some love on Facebook! (Like he needs it.)

Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino is an amazing lyricist. Not only that, but he tends to DJ his own tracks. Needless to say he is a multifaceted individual. Also, he has been featured here on Crossfaded plenty of times, most recently on our Welcome Back post. Off his newest mixtape “Camp” he drops Heartbeat and this song has such a soft intro that drops into heavy electro segments that make this song a juggernaut. He incorporates fast paced rapping over a sick melody. It is amazing how he can convey such great arrogance over his tracks. I find it to be such an interesting take on the rap genre. Also, the video is sick as hell and is worth a view.

Next up is the Proper Villains remix of Heartbeat brings forth a gnarly dubstep remix and it hits hard. It is a good mix of hard melodic dubstep and constant wobbles. This song can be enjoyed both driving around and at a dance party. With that sort of versatility it is obvious that Proper Villains has been refining his view on how dubstep should be produced. It is working because this song bangs. Proper Villains has amazing star quality so be sure to check out his Facebook and Soundcloud. Now listen.

Last but certainly not least is the remix done by The Golden Pony. A relatively unknown artist who has some amazing potential. With his version of Heartbeat he gives the song a complete makeover and makes it into a great dance/pop song that will make any crowd go wild. It is fast paced happy-go-lucky take on this song. It has very fun synths and nice transitions that will keep you guessing. The Golden Pony delivers big time with this remix, so, give him some love on his Facebook and Soundcloud.
