Wobble Wednesday #15

Mellow dubstep that complements female vocals is quickly becoming my favorite style of dubstep. Not to mention it is tasteful, which I am a big dick about. Now in this track we have Breakage providing the melody and I could totally listen to the whole song as an instrumental. However, Clare Maguire provides a beautiful and slightly haunting vocal part that meshes seamlessly with the dubstep background. It reminds me of the song ‘Magical World’ (seen here) that was mixed by Bassnecter and much like that song it has some serious bass if you put it on anything bigger than your generic white iPod headphones. And to be honest at the end of the song I always wish it would last longer. (Problem solved, I found the ‘repeat’ button.) Anyways, best bet is to have this track for personal or small group usage, not much of a party rager. Know what I’m sayin’?

Clare Maguire – Ain’t Nobody (Breakage Remix)

Folk star James Vincent McMorrow’s songs are usually gentle and relaxing, the perfect music to while away a summer afternoon to. However, Montreal duo Adventure Club have reworked ‘We Don’t Eat’ into a powerful dubstep tune that’s bursting with grinding bass and heavy beats, but lacks the strong whomps that people tend to look for. Despite that, this tack is a beautiful contrast with McMorrow’s vocals that tugs at the heartstrings. Or something like that.

Or download here if it is being a little asshole.

I think it is fair to say that you can mix any song, sound or noise with dubstep and create a slick track; from movie soundtracks to internet memes, we’ve heard it all. This time we introduce DSKOTEK, a duo from LA, and their thank you post for the 3,000 fans on Facebook. “Mega Man” features the many beeps and boops from the original Capcom series… And more. The remake pleases my inner child with nostalgic memories, and at the same time makes him laugh maniacally as my childhood pastime is (epically) mutilated by some aggressive dubstep wobbles. Need I say more?

Whomp! Whomp! Wobble…

Not To Me Mistaken For Vodka

The title is a disclaimer, so don’t drink this song? I mean what? Fuck sleep deprivation. Whatever, enjoy the DJ setlist, it is sick as fuck for people that enjoy pop and house. Not as good as DJ Tennis’ setlists, just so you know. Definitely worth a look though.

EEKO – Not To Be Mistaken For Vodka

Fucks yeah.

Mashup Monday #26

Yeah, this guy has been featured on CFM before, and it is one of my most downloaded songs of all time. It’s no surprise, because his productions has driving club/party power and also throws in sick vocals. This guy is a true up and comer with loads of potential. Great masher all together.

5 & A Dime – Fuck The Haters

A half a years worth of mashup mondays. I think I’m awesome for doing so. Anyways, to all of you that have supported me, thank you. For all of those who didn’t well hopefully you will will get the chance to listen to this song, because it is tailor made for you.

Can I Kick It?

This song is an awesome song to chill out to. It has awesome lyrics and is also a super melodic hip-hop song because of the sample they use. Overall it’s a super good song…enjoy!

Thursday Night RAGER!

No, but seriously a lot of people have been talking mad shit about this track, I don’t know why… Okay, let me break it down for you. If you happen to be throwing a huge ass party, you might want to put this on because I can personally guarantee 90% of the lovely females will start dancing their asses off. That being said, don’t think, just download it and trust the Guru. (Yeah, I’ve reached the rank of Guru, what of it?)

Ke$ha – Blow Remix Feat. B.o.B

This track is a filthy club banger! The Disco Fries are an electro-house duo from New Jersey, (DJ Piklz & Danny Danger), they’ve done official tracks and remixes with several notable artists, and they’ve smashed clubs everywhere from Jersey to Miami to Hong Kong and beyond.

Far East Movement – If I Was You (OMG) [Ft. Snoop Dogg] (Disco Fries Remix)

There I am am finding epic tracks and this song presents itself. I guess I had to wait until some DJs grew up a bit, like this young producer from Nantes, France. While only 16 years of age, Madeon managed to remix “Raise Your Weapon” with such level of professionalism that it may have easily been confused with a track by one of the music giants. Maintaining the original vocals, Madeon gives his own electro/house spin on this track by switching up the pitch of the vocals. To say that I’m impressed is an understatement. Hope to hear more from this young and upcoming talent.
